Abstract:
This nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery is provided with: a positive electrode that uses an olivine-type compound as a positive electrode active material; a negative electrode that uses amorphous carbon as a negative electrode active material; a separator that is sandwiched between the positive electrode and the negative electrode; a nonaqueous electrolyte; and an outer case that houses the positive electrode, the negative electrode, the separator and the nonaqueous electrolyte. This nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery is characterized in that the positive electrode, the negative electrode and the nonaqueous electrolyte are configured so as to satisfy formula (Rn/(Rp + Rn)) ≤ 0.54 (wherein Rp is the positive electrode internal resistance value ascribable to the positive electrode and the positive electrode reaction during charging of the secondary battery; Rn is the negative electrode internal resistance value ascribable to the negative electrode and the negative electrode reaction during charging of the secondary battery; and (Rp + Rn) is the inter-terminal internal resistance value of the secondary battery during charging of the secondary battery).
