Abstract:
According to the present invention, a positive electrode active material layer (21) of a positive electrode (2) and a negative electrode active material layer (31) of a negative electrode (3) face each other in a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery. The positive electrode active material layer contains a positive electrode active material that has a core part and a shell part. If A (m2/g) represents the specific surface area of the core part and B (mass%) represents a mass ratio of the shell part in the positive electrode active material, A and B satisfy 0.1 ≤ B/A ≤ 5. If C (mm2) represents the area of the facing surfaces of the positive electrode active material layer and the negative electrode active material layer and D (mAh) is the battery capacity, C and D satisfy C/D ≥ 45 (mm2/mAh). A nonaqueous electrolyte (4) contains a lithium salt of an oxalato complex at a ratio of 0.1-1 mass%. This nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery is manufactured by assembling a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery and performing a coating film formation treatment at 4.1 V or higher at a temperature of 35°C or higher.
