Abstract:
The purpose of this invention is to provide a nonaqueous-electrolyte secondary-battery negative electrode that minimizes gas production and improves output characteristics. Said negative electrode comprises a negative-electrode collector and a negative-electrode mixture layer provided so as to contact said negative-electrode collector. The negative-electrode mixture layer comprises a mixture of a negative-electrode active material, a binder, and a conductive agent. The negative-electrode active material contains silicon, and the binder comprises a binder (A) comprising a rubber-based macromolecular compound. If a thickness-direction cross-section of the negative-electrode mixture layer is divided in half into a collector-side region and a surface-side region, the collector-side region contains more of the aforementioned binder (A) then the surface-side region does, and the surface-side region contains more of the conductive agent than the collector-side region does.
