Title:
NONAQUEOUS ELECTROLYTE SECONDARY CELL CATHODE MATERIAL AND NONAQUEOUS ELECTROLYTE SECONDARY CELL EMPLOYING THE CATHODE MATERIAL
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/1998/000876
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Fibrous carbon having a cross section satisfying an area fulfillment factor of not less than 0.8 is used as nonaqueous electrolyte secondary cell cathode material. Alternatively, since the fractal dimension value of the cross section high order structure of random radial type fibrous carbon can be utilized as a physical property parameter, fibrous carbon which is so controlled as to have a fractal dimension value of 1.1 - 1.8 and a crystallinity in a proper range is used as nonaqueous electrolyte secondary cell cathode material. Further, it is also effective to use fibrous carbon having a notched cross section. Moreover, if graphitized fibrous carbon which has cross-sectional portions having different crystal structures with a certain period in the longitudinal direction of the fiber is produced and pulverized, fibrous carbon pulverized powder with little variation and a constant aspect ratio can be obtained easily.
