Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method and a device for measuring optical nonlinearity in an optical fiber being measured that is provided with a plurality of cores having mutually coupled waveguide modes. The method includes, at least: a preparation step of arranging a laser light source which emits laser light, and a detecting unit which obtains a light intensity; a light incidence step of causing the laser light to be incident on a specific core of the optical fiber being measured; a light detection step of obtaining the intensity of a specific wavelength component generated as a result of optical nonlinearity, from among reflected light components from the optical fiber being measured; and an analysis step of obtaining the optical nonlinearity of the optical fiber being measured, on the basis of the intensity of the specific wavelength component.
