Abstract:
Provided are a nonmagnetic stainless steel which has a higher electrical resistivity than existing nonmagnetic alloys, a process for producing the stainless steel, and a radio receiver.
A case main body (10) and a back cover (20) are constituted of a nonmagnetic stainless steel having an electrical resistivity as high as above 100 µΩ∙cm and containing, in terms of mass%, up to 0.1% C, 4.0-7.5% Si, up to 2.0% Mn, 25.5-30.0% Ni, 15.0-20.0% Cr, 0.1-3% Mo, and 0-2.0% Cu, with the remainder being Fe and impurities. Even if some of the variable magnetic flux generated by the coil of an antenna (11) runs through the case main body (10) and the back cover (20), the receiving efficiency of the antenna can be prevented from being reduced by an eddy current loss and sufficient radio receiving sensitivity can be obtained. This nonmagnetic stainless steel is produced through the steps of hot and/or cold plastic working and a subsequent solution treatment conducted at 1,000-1,180ºC.
