Provided is a nonwoven fabric having an excellent balance among fuzz resistance, softness, and tensile strength. The nonwoven fabric includes embossed sections and non-embossed sections. The embossed sections are made up of an embossed pattern including unit patterns each delimited by embossed lines. Each embossed line is made up of a plurality of emboss-element parts which are arranged continuously at predetermined intervals from one another. In respect to a direction pointing from an arbitrarily-defined point in a non-embossed section within one of the unit patterns toward the outside of one of the embossed lines that delimit said non-embossed section and in which the distance from said arbitrarily-defined point to said embossed line becomes shortest, at least one of the emboss-element parts is provided so as to block said direction pointing from said arbitrarily-defined point toward the outside of one of the embossed lines that delimit said non-embossed section and in which the distance from said arbitrarily-defined point to said embossed line becomes shortest.
