Abstract:
The present invention provides a nonwoven fabric which is suitable as a wiper that is indented for human use and that is to be used in cleansing or beautifying the skin. The nonwoven fabric combines a high absorbing and holding power for a liquid such as water or a medicinal solution and a high desorbing power therefor, has excellent bulkiness and softness, is agreeable to the touch and lowly irritant to the skin, and exhibits excellent wiping-off properties. A nonwoven fabric made of a blend which comprises 20 to 80 mass% of a polyester-based fiber having a flat multi-lobed cross section and 20 to 80 mass% of a cellulose-based fiber, wherein the cross section of the polyester-based fiber has an oblate shape which has at least six lobes on the circumference and which satisfies a specified oblateness and a specified degree of modification.
