Abstract:
 The present invention relates to a norbornene cross-linked polymer having a glass transition temperature of 240°C or higher and containing 50 mass% or more of at least one selected from the group consisting of dicyclopentadiene monomer units, tetracyclododecene monomer units, and tricyclopentadiene monomer units. The present invention also relates to a method for producing this norbornene cross-linked polymer including a step (1) for effecting primary curing by heating a compound containing at least one of the above monomer components and a metathesis polymerization catalyst at a temperature below the inactivation temperature of the metathesis polymerization catalyst, and a step (2) for effecting secondary curing by heating the cured product obtained by step (1) at a temperature above the inactivation temperature of the metathesis polymerization catalyst. This norbornene cross-linked polymer achieves the effect of presenting ultra-high heat resistance with a glass transition temperature of 240°C or higher.
