Abstract:
The invention relates to mechanical engineering. The inventive variator comprises a chain displacement mechanism (1) (the drive of said mechanism is not shown and the capability thereof to displace the chain is define by the interval AB), a chain (2), a spring-loaded pin (3), a disc shoulder (4) and the component (5) of said variator structurally embodied in such a way that it is movable together with the chain (2) along a slot (8) away from the shoulder (4) towards the center of the disc. The pins (3) being passed through the component (5), they take the initial position thereof which is indicated by an arrow (11) on Fig. 2. The inventive variator also comprises a body (6) thereof, a unit (7) for fixing said body, the slot (8), a deflector (9) of the body pressing the pins (3) into pins (10) to a depth B which is shown on Fig., the spring loaded pins (10) of a driven disc are displaced along the axis thereof by the pins (3) to the depth B which is shown on Fig. The pins (3) being returned to the initial position thereof by means of the component (5), the pins (10) are also returned to the initial position thereof by means of springs (14) (Fig 3). The Fig 2 displays the operation of the deflector (9), the body (6), the pin (3), a spring seat (12), a spring (13) of a chain pin and a bush (16). The FIG. 3 displays a part of the driven disc (15) and the spring (14). The arrow G indicates the direction of motion of the chain (2). The operational mode of the inventive variator involves the following elements: the driving chain (2) provided with the pins (3) being rotatable in the direction G engages the pins (10) of the disc (15) with the aid of the deflector (9) and is retained in such a position by the body (6). Afterwards, the chain (2) is disengaged with the aid of the component (5) thereof. The chain (2) being displaced by the mechanism (1) along the interval AB, a gear ratio is steplessly changed by said displacement.
