Abstract:
This notification system is provided with: a first extraction unit which extracts, from among a plurality of caution-required places in previously acquired positional information, a plurality of caution-required places present within a prescribed distance range having a current position of a vehicle as the centre thereof; a second extraction unit which extracts, from among the plurality of caution-required places, caution-required places present within a prescribed angle having a current forward-travel direction of the vehicle as the centre thereof; a third extraction unit which extracts, as a site for which a notification is to be issued, from among the caution-required places extracted by both the first extraction unit and the second extraction unit, a caution-required place through which it has been determined, as a result of referring to map data having information related to a plurality of links associating positions with orientations, that the vehicle will pass, and in which the current position of the vehicle is present within a prescribed angular range having the orientation in the link at the centre thereof; and an execution unit which issues, in accordance with the proximity of the vehicle to the site for which a notification is to be issued, said site having been extracted by the third extraction unit, a notification that the vehicle is traveling through a caution-required place.
