Abstract:
A notification system equipped with an in-vehicle communication device that is installed in a vehicle and transmits vehicle status information to the periphery of the vehicle, and a portable terminal having a receiving unit for receiving the status information from the in-vehicle communication device. The portable terminal has: a notification unit for notifying a user of a notification operation; a first determination unit for determining whether or not a notification operation for the user is necessary, on the basis of the status information received by the receiving unit; a second determination unit for obtaining location information for the terminal itself and/or the vehicle, and determining whether or not the obtained location information is in a pre-set notification-prohibited region; and a determination control unit for determining whether or not to cause the notification unit to perform the notification operation, on the basis of the determination results from the first and second determination units.
