Title:
NOVEL ACYLASE GENE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2003/104446
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
It is intended to provide a highly active β-lactam acylase protein; a gene encoding this β-lactam acylase protein; a recombinant vector having this gene; a transformant containing this recombinant vector; and a process for producing a β-lactam antibiotic such as amoxicillin with the use of the β-lactam acylase. A stenotrophomonas β-lactam acylase gene is obtained by cloning a β-lactam acylase gene of Stenotrophomonas maltophilia and determining its DNA base sequence and an amino acid sequence anticipated therefrom.
