Title:
NOVEL ADAPTOR PROTEIN BINDING TO MAMMALIAN TOLL-LIKE RECEPTOR 3 AND GENE THEREOF
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2004/050868
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
It is intended to provide a novel adaptor protein efficacious in preventing and treating viral infections such as hepatitis B and hepatitis C and treating tumor, etc. which controls the production of I-type interferon and binds to mammalian Toll-like receptor 3, and its gene. A novel adaptor protein TICAM-1 comprising an amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:2 or 4, binding specifically to mammalian Toll-like receptor 3 and inducing the production of I-type interferon. A mutant of the above adaptor protein TICAM-1 has the same properties, so long as it carries a TIR domain (an amino acid sequences ranging from the 394-position to the 532-position in the amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:2 or an amino acid sequences ranging from the 396-position to the 534-position in the amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:4). A gene encoding the above adaptor protein TICAM-1.
