Novel additive compositions, characterized by comprising (a) a compound having in the molecule a group represented by general formula (I): (wherein R?1¿, R?2¿ and R?3¿ are each hydrogen or methyl, provided at least either of R?2¿ and R?3¿ is hydrogen), (b) an extreme-pressure agent containing sulfur and/or phosphorus, and (c) an extreme-pressure agent free from sulfur and phosphorus. Lubricating oil compositions containing the above additive compositions exhibit excellent antiseizure property, and therefore are effectively usable as metal working oils such as forging oils, press working oils, drawing oils, rolling oils, cutting oils or grinding oils; or hydraulic oils.
