Abstract:

Compounds which are useful in the efficient synthesis of 2-amino-4-oxobicyclo[3.1.0]hexane-2,6-dicarboxylic acid. The compounds are 2-oxobicyclo[3.1.0]hexane-6-carboxylic acid derivatives represented by formula (1) [wherein R?1¿ represents hydrogen, C¿1-6? alkyl, C¿3-6? cycloalkyl, C¿1-6? alkyl substituted by C¿3-6? cycloalkyl, aryl, C¿1-6? alkyl substituted by aryl, C¿1-6? alkyl substituted by C¿1-6? alkoxy, C¿1-6? hydroxyalkyl, C¿1-6? alkyl substituted by C¿1-6? alkylthio, C¿1-6? mercaptoalkyl, tetrahydrofuranyl, or tetrahydropyranyl; R?2¿ and R?3¿ are the same or different and each represents C¿1-6? alkyl, C¿3-6? cycloalkyl, C¿1-6? alkyl substituted by C¿3-6? cycloalkyl, aryl, or C¿1-6? alkyl substituted by aryl, or R?2¿ and R?3¿ in combination represent -(CH¿2?)¿n?- (n is 2 or 3); and Y?1¿ and Y?2¿ are the same or different and each represents sulfur, oxygen, or nitrogen].
