Abstract:
A compound having strong inhibitory activity against the Maillard reaction; a medicine for use in the prevention of or treatments for diseases in which the Maillard reaction participates; and an additive for preventing the deterioration of cosmetics or foods caused by the Maillard reaction. The compound is one represented by the formula (I) or a pharmacologically acceptable salt thereof. (I) [In the formula, R?1¿ represents alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl, unsaturated heterocycle, saturated heterocycle, or phenylalkenyl; R?3¿, R?4¿, R?5¿, and R?6¿ each represents hydrogen, OH, nitro, halogeno, alkyl, alkoxy, mercapto, alkylthio, amino, alkylamino, dialkylamino, or phenyl; R?8¿ represents hydrogen or represents a bond in cooperation with R?9¿; R?9¿ represents hydrogen, alkyl, etc.; and X represents a group (A) (wherein R?2a¿ represents alkyl, etc. and R?7a¿ represents hydrogen, alkyl, etc.), a group (B) (wherein R?2b¿ represents alkyl, etc. and Y represents oxo, etc.), or a group (C) (wherein R?2c¿ represents unsaturated heterocycle, etc., R?11c¿ and R?12c¿ each represents hydrogen, alkyl, etc., and n is an integer of 0 to 4).]
