Abstract:
The present invention relates to a novel compound that regulates the function and differentiation of the cytoskeleton, which is involved in pulmonary fibrosis, and thus is useful in the preparation of drugs that can treat associated diseases. It has been identified that a novel compound or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, according to the present invention, has the effect of regulating actin polymerization required for the formation of cytoskeleton, and that the expression of α-SMA and F-actin, which are main factors causing fibrosis, are effectively inhibited in human lung tissue-derived fibroblasts (MRC5). In addition, it has been identified that when activated macrophages are treated with the compound, the level of inflammation of inflammatory cytokines, caused by macrophages, is reduced. Therefore, a novel compound according to the present invention is expected to be effectively used, as a preparation having the effect of inhibiting or alleviating fibrosis of the lungs, in the prevention and treatment of diseases associated with pulmonary fibrosis.
