Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing a novel dihydroxy compound having an indoline skeleton that has high heat resistance and a high refractive index. Provided as a solution is a dihydroxy compound represented by general formula (1) (in the formula, R represents a C2-6 alkylene group, R1 and R2 each independently represent a C1-8 alkyl group or C1-8 alkoxy group, m represents an integer of 0-3, and n represents an integer of 0-2; however, when m is 2 or higher, R1 may be the same or different, and when n is 2, R2 may be the same or different).
