Abstract:
By using a graft polymer wherein a hydrophilic polymer has been grafted to a terminal of a dendritic polymer of a styrene skeleton, it is possible to simply produce a temperature-responsive substrate for cell culture having a temperature-responsive surface for cell culture with which cells are efficiently cultured and efficiently peeled from the substrate in a short amount of time simply by changing the temperature of the substrate surface. By using this temperature-responsive substrate for cell culture, it is possible to efficiently culture cells obtained from tissue. By using this culture method, it is possible to efficiently peel the cells from the substrate intact and in a short amount of time simply by changing temperature. Moreover, by using this graft polymer, a wide range of substances including peptides and proteins can be separated simply by changing the temperature of the chromatography carrier. This configuration facilitates the separation procedure and improves efficiency of the separation work. Furthermore, separation based on a difference in solute molecular structure is possible using the stereoregularity of the dendritic polymer itself.
