Abstract:
This invention provides a heterocyclic ring-containing aromatic compound represented by formula: A-B, and an electroconductive polymer produced by oxidative polymerization using the heterocyclic ring-containing aromatic compound as a monomer. In the formula: A-B, A represents a substituted or unsubstituted thiophene ring group or a substituted or unsubstituted pyrrole ring group, and B represents a substituted or unsubstituted hydrocarbon-type aromatic ring group, a substituted or unsubstituted thiophene ring group, or a substituted or unsubstituted pyrrole ring group. The ring represented by A is bonded directly to the ring represented by B. In this case, A and B are different from each other in structure. The compound can be produced by a coupling reaction using a hypervalent iodine reactant.
