Title:
NOVEL LACTIC ACID BACTERIUM
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2014/021205
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing: a lactic acid bacterium which has at least one effect selected from a fatigue-improving effect, a blood flow-improving effect, a stool odor-improving effect and a growth-promoting effect and is highly safe; and a preparation containing, as an active ingredient, a lactic acid bacterium having at least one effect selected from a fatigue-improving effect, a blood flow-improving effect, a stool odor-improving effect and a growth-promoting effect, a treatment product of the lactic acid bacterium or an extract residue of the lactic acid bacterium. The present invention provides: a novel lactic acid bacterium which belongs to Enterococcus faecium, has specific mycological properties, and also has such properties that the survival rate of living cells of the bacterium is 40% or more when the living cells are lyophilized in the absence of a dispersion medium and the survival rate of living cells of the bacterium in a living cell preparation is 80% or more when the preparation is stored at 40˚C for 4 months; a composition which contains the lactic acid bacterium; any one agent selected from a fatigue-improving agent, a blood flow-improving agent, a stool odor-improving agent and a growth-promoting agent, which contains the composition as an active ingredient; and the use of the composition in a food or the like.
