The present invention relates to: a novel mediator; an electrode modifier and an electron transfer promoter containing the same; an electrode, a battery, a composition, and an enzyme sensor containing the electrode modifier and the electron transfer promoter; and methods for using the electrode modifier and the electron transfer accelerant.
