Abstract:
Disclosed is a novel method for preparing monoethanolamine, and the present invention belongs to the field of coal chemical engineering. The method of the present invention involves using methyl glycolate, which is an intermediate product during a coal-to-ethylene glycol production process, as a starting raw material; firstly reacting the methyl glycolate with an amino compound (primary amine) under the action of a catalyst to generate glycolamide; and then hydrogenating the glycolamide at 80-260ºC and a pressure of 0.1-10 MPa in the presence of catalyst B to obtain ethanolamine. The method proposed by the present invention has a relatively low cost and a high yield, and the intermediate product during coal chemical engineering is effectively used as a raw material. The method is a novel method alternative to traditional ethylene oxide methods for producing monoethanolamine.
