Abstract:
The present invention relates to a novel method for preparing a pterocarpan from an isoflavan-4-ol. When the method of the present invention is used, the absolute configuration of the C3 and the C4 on the isoflavan-4-ol B-chain is maintained identically to the pterocarpan, whereby a stereochemically pure pterocarpan can be effectively prepared.
