Abstract:
A polypeptide having a pantothenate kinase activity, which is derived from a Corynebacterium microorganism capable of producing a pantothenic acid derivative at a high level; DNA encoding the polypeptide; a recombinant vector having the DNA introduced therein; and a transformant having the DNA or the recombinant vector introduced therein. It becomes possible to produce a pantothenic acid derivative including coenzyme A in a large quantity by a biological procedure, and therefore becomes possible to provide a highly safe pantothenic acid derivative with high quality which has been desired in the applications including medicines, functional foods and the like.
