Abstract:
The invention aims at providing a polyimide film which is reduced in the dimensional change as observed when it has undergone the step of laminating the polyimide film with a metal or the step of etching the metal layer to form wiring and which can be stabilized in the degree of dimensional change over the full width. The aim can be attained by a continuously produced polyimide film wherein the linear expansion coefficient (a) in the axial direction of molecular orientation and that (b) in the direction perpendicular to the axial direction thereof, which are determined at 100 to 200&ring C, satisfy a specific relationship over the full width or one wherein the tear propagation resistance (c) in the axial direction of molecular orientation and that (d) in the direction perpendicular to the axial direction thereof satisfy a specific relationship over the full width.
