[PROBLEMS] Disclosed is a polymer useful as a blue light-emitting polymer which is able to emit light with high luminance for a long time while having excellent durability. Also disclosed are a compound useful as a monomer for producing such a polymer, a method for producing such a polymer, a method for producing such a compound, and a blue light-emitting device having a light-emitting layer which contains such a polymer and/or such a compound. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] Specifically disclosed is a polymer characterized by having a repeating unit represented by the general formula (1) below. Also specifically disclosed are a compound useful as a monomer for producing this polymer, a method for producing the polymer, a method for producing the compound, and a blue light-emitting device having a light-emitting layer which contains the polymer and/or the compound.
