Abstract:
The base sequences of cDNA clones involved in a catalogued full-length cDNA library are analyzed. Concerning cDNA clones having novel sequences from among those analyzed above, the physiological activities (functions) of proteins encoded thereby are specified. Based on these physiological activities (functions), a method of utilizing the proteins and DNAs encoding the same is proposed. Namely, the following proteins (a) and (b), DNAs encoding the same and a method of utilizing the same are provided: (a) a protein comprising an amino acid sequence represented by any of SEQ ID NOS:14 to 26, 36 and 38; and (b) a protein comprising an amino acid sequence derived from an amino sequence represented by any of SEQ ID NOS: 14 to 26, 36 and 38 by deletion, substitution and/or addition of one to several amino acids and having a DNA-binding activity or an IAP-like activity.
