Title:
NOVEL PYTHIUM BACTERIUM
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2011/161999
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Disclosed is a novel Pythium nunn bacterium which has an antagonistic activity on pathogenic bacteria belonging to the genus Pythium such as Pythium ultimum. The Pythium nunn bacterium has the nucleotide sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:1 in an ITS region that contains 5.8S of rDNA. The Pythium nunn bacterium has an antagonistic activity on pathogenic bacteria belonging to the genus Pythium such as Pythium ultimum. The bacterium is sprayed onto a land where pathogenic bacteria such as Pythium ultimum have been inhabited to control plant diseases including wilt disease.
