Abstract:
A novel reciprocating saw, comprising a handle (1), a switch (2), a power line (3), a motor (4), a left casing (5) and a right casing (6), and further comprising a first saw blade (8), a second saw blade (9), an upper support (10), a lower support (11), and, provided between the upper support (10) and the lower support (11), an upper gear (12), a first eccentric shaft (13), a first drive arm (14), a lower gear (15), a second eccentric shaft (16) and a second drive arm (17). Many of the parts of the reciprocating saw are universal, and many of the mounting surfaces are machined in place by a machining center directly on an aluminum (or magnesium alloy) casting, reducing the number and type of assembled parts. In addition, machining factors are taken into account upon designing such that machining of all mounting surfaces can be completed in a single set up. Moreover, the first drive arm and the second drive arm are directly driven by a pair of spiral bevel gears, reducing a loss of efficiency caused by a two-stage or multi-stage drive. The present invention reduces the length of the reciprocating saw and simplifies assembly to provide a more compact structure, lower weight, and significantly reduced overall manufacturing cost.
