Abstract:
The present invention relates to a novel transition metal compound based on a cyclopenta[a]naphthalene group, a transition metal catalyst composition comprising the same which has high catalytic activity for producing an ethylene homopolymer or a copolymer of ethylene and at least one α-olefin, and a method for producing an ethylene homopolymer or a copolymer of ethylene and α-olefin using the same. A metallocene compound according to the present invention and a catalyst composition comprising the same provide excellent thermal stability of a catalyst and thus while still maintaining high catalytic activity at high temperatures, excellent copolymerization reactivity with other olefins is exhibited and polymers with high molecular weight may be produced at a high yield.
