Abstract:
Described is a nozzle system designed to direct a blast of air at a continuously moving strip of fabric (2). The nozzle system has a multiplicity of rows (4) of outlet ports (5) spaced at equal intervals at right angles to the direction of motion of the fabric (2). In order to be able to adjust stepwise the width of fabric on which the nozzle system acts, slide bars (9) are mounted so that they can move over the rows (4) of outlet ports (5) at right angles to the direction of motion of the fabric (2). The sliding bars have holes (11, 12, 13) designed to be positioned simultaneously over all of the outlet ports in a row (4). At least in the central region (18) along the length (9), the holes (11, 12, 13) are larger on one side by an amount approximatively equal to the area of the outlet ports (5) than the zone at the end (14) of the bar.
