Title:
A NUT LOOSENESS TAMPER EVIDENT INDICATING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2004/046569
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
An indicator device is described which is used for indicating if a nut (5) has become loose or has been damaged by accident or by tampering interference. The indicating device comprises an outer cylindrical portion (1) with direction indicating means and an inner tapering surface together with an inner annular member (2), which, prior to use severably holds a number of wedging members (3, 4), said number being devised to equal the number of flats on the nut (5), such that, in use, a blow on said cylindrical portion (1) causes said wedging members (3, 4) to detach from said annular member (2) and each wedge between a flat of said nut and the said inner tapering surface thereby securely mounting said cylindrical portion and indication means on said nut.
