Abstract:
Provided are a tightening method and tightening tool that facilitate the work of tightening a nut member even in places where there is no space for turning a wrench or spanner. A nut member 7 is formed as a geared nut member that has a nut-side gear 11 formed on the circumference thereof. A washer 5, in which an engagement-receiving hole 21 is formed in a protruding part 17, and a tightening tool 9, which is provided with a rod-like section with an engaging protrusion 31 at the tip and an operation-side gear 29 that is provided near the tip of the rod-like section and that meshes with the nut-side gear 11, are prepared. After lightly tightening the nut member 7 on a mounting section 1 by hand, by operating an operation-receiving part 25B of the tightening tool 9 to turn the tightening tool 9 while the engaging protrusion 31 of the tightening tool 9 is fitted into the engagement-receiving hole 21 and the operation-side gear 29 is meshed with the nut-side gear 11, the geared nut member is firmly tightened.
