Abstract:
o-Aminomethylphenol compounds represented by general formula (I), (wherein X represents hydrogen or halogen, R represents hydrogen or C1-4 alkyl, A represents C1-4 alkyl, phenyl, benzyl or a bifunctional chain of -(CH2)3- or -O(CH2)2- bound to position 3 or 5 of the benzene nucleus to form a bicyclic system) or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, a process for their preparation, and a pharmaceutical composition containing them. The compounds have antiinflammatory, analgesic, diuretic, and hypotensive effects, and are useful for treating diseases due to inflammation, edema, hypertension, etc.
