Title:
OBJECT DETECTING DEVICE, OBJECT DETECTING METHOD, AND STORAGE MEDIUM
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2023/079749
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A conventional object detecting device determines that an object is present around a vehicle if the number of times that a plurality of conditions relating to a determination result from a distance determining unit or the like is satisfied is equal to or greater than a predetermined number. However, ultrasonic waves are also reflected from the ground surface, for example, and may be received continuously as noise by an ultrasonic sensor even if there are no objects, resulting in an erroneous detection. The present invention addresses the problem of detecting an object at an early stage while suppressing erroneous detections due to noise or the like. A computer: calculates an object position by means of output signals from a plurality of ultrasonic sensors; sets as a main count value the number of continuous detection periods in which a movement distance of the object position is at most equal to a prescribed distance; calculates a provisional object position by means of the output signal from one of the ultrasonic sensors and a set auxiliary line; sets as a sub-count value the number of continuous detection periods in which the movement distance of the provisional object position is at most equal to a prescribed distance; uses the sub-count value as a backup for the main count value; and confirms the detection of an object if the main count value reaches a prescribed value.
