Abstract:
An object detecting device according to the present invention is applied to an object detecting system including an object detecting sensor (10) that is provided so as to face the surroundings of a vehicle (50) and that detects an object present in the surroundings of the vehicle. The object detecting device includes: an abnormality-handling control unit that notifies a user of a detection abnormality in the object detecting sensor in the event of the occurrence thereof and that sets the object detecting system in an abnormality handling mode; an action determining unit that determines whether or not an abnormality resolving action has been conducted, the abnormality resolving action being an action taken by the user to resolve the detection abnormality in a situation where the user has been notified of the detection abnormality in the object detecting sensor; and a canceling control unit that changes a predetermined canceling condition for canceling the abnormality handling mode so as to relax the canceling condition in the case where it is determined that the abnormality resolving action has been taken compared with the case where the abnormality resolving action has not been taken.
