Abstract:
An object detecting system (1) comprises a radar device (2), a specifying unit (7a), and a detecting unit (7b). The radar device (2) emits a plurality of radar waves into a preset probe range and, for each of a plurality of unit regions formed by dividing the probe range, receives a reflected wave of a respective radar wave among the plurality of radar waves. If an intensity equivalent value for the reflected wave in at least one unit region among the plurality of unit regions exceeds a prescribed threshold, the specifying unit (7a) specifies the at least one unit region as being a strong reflection region, said intensity equivalent value being based on the intensity of the reflected wave of the respective radar wave among the plurality of radar waves received by the radar device (2). The detecting unit (7b) specifies reflected waves that are ghosts that are not actually received, from among at least one reflected wave within one unit region in the periphery of the strong reflection region, and detects objects.
