Abstract:
An estimation unit (41) estimates a density map for a target image that is subject to object detection using a density estimation model (31) that has been trained using correct answer data in the form of density maps that indicate the probability density of an object being at respective locations in an image, the density maps being created by assigning a normal distribution that has a dispersion that corresponds to the size of an object to locations that correspond to the region of the object in a training image for which the region of the object is known, an extraction unit (42) extracts a region that corresponds to the locations on the density map at which the probability density is at or above a threshold value as a region to be subject to object detection, and a detection unit (43) applies an object detection model (32) to a region of the target image that corresponds to the extracted region to detect an object.
