Abstract:
An object detection device for detecting the distance to an object is equipped with: a transmission/receiving unit (11) for repeatedly transmitting an ultrasonic transmission wave, and receiving a reflected wave from the transmission wave; a transmission control unit (14) for causing the transmission wave to be transmitted; a distance calculation unit (15) for calculating the distance to the object on the basis of the difference in time from transmission of the transmission wave by the transmission/receiving unit until receipt of the reflected wave; and transmission timing control units (25, 125) for controlling the timing at which the transmission control unit causes the transmission wave to be transmitted. On the basis of the distance to the object, the transmission timing control unit inserts an extra waiting interval between the transmission/receiving interval and the next transmission/receiving interval, when pre-set interference identification conditions are met when it is necessary to identify whether interference is occurring.
