Abstract:
This object detection method illuminates the area in front of a host vehicle with electromagnetic waves, and detects objects in front of the host vehicle on the basis of reflected waves derived from the electromagnetic waves. The object detection method captures an image of the area in front of the host vehicle, and if a transition is made from a state in which an object is not detected to a state in which an object is detected, determines whether or not the detected object is a floating object on the basis of the captured image.
