Abstract:
An object recognition system for recognizing an object in a prescribed area, said object recognition system comprising: an imaging unit for imaging the prescribed area; a distance measuring unit for measuring the distance from the imaging unit to the prescribed area; a model generating unit for generating a mesh model of the prescribed area on the basis of the distance measured by the distance measuring unit; an object extracting unit for extracting, in the mesh model of the prescribed area generated by the model generating unit, a mesh model of the object projecting from a background mesh model of the prescribed area; and an object identifying unit for comparing the mesh model of the object extracted by the object extracting unit and object information stored in a database, and identifying the object extracted by the object extracting unit.
