Abstract:
In order to improve the resolution of superficial blood vessels during narrow band light observation while favorably maintaining color reproducibility during white light observation, an observation apparatus (1) comprises: a light source unit (10) that is capable of adjusting the amount of illumination light having a wavelength of from 390 to 490 nm for a B1 area and a B2 area having a longer wavelength than the B1 area; and an imaging element (8) that images reflected light of the illumination light from a subject. The light source unit (10) changes the ratio of the amount of light between the B1 area and B2 area for white light observation and for narrow band light observation, the imaging element (8) has RGB color filters arranged for each pixel, and the R color filter transmits more light from the R area and the B1 area than the light from the second B area and has spectral characteristics that satisfy the conditional expressions (1) and (2). 0
