Abstract:
A medical observation system (100) according to one embodiment of the present disclosure comprises: a camera (110) which is one example of an imaging unit for acquiring a first operative field image; an arm part which supports and moves the camera (110); a robot drive control unit (131) which is one example of a control unit for controlling the arm part in such a manner as to make an adjustment to the position and attitude of the camera (110); a distortion correction unit (123) which is one example of a correction unit for correcting distortion of the first operative field image acquired by the camera (110); and a cut-out processing unit (124) which is one example of a processing unit for cutting out a second operative field image from the first operative field image that has undergone a distortion correction by the distortion correction unit (123) and for performing projective transformation on the second operative field image. The distortion correction unit (123) makes an adjustment to the distortion correction amount for the first operative field image according to a cut-out position, that is, the position where the second operative field image is cut out of the first operative field image.
