Abstract:
Disclosed is an obstacle detection warning device that has: a distance map creation unit (6) which, on the basis of an image captured by a vehicle-mounted camera (1), associates, for each pixel of the captured image, a two-dimensional coordinate with a distance to the vehicle-mounted camera (1) from an imaged subject portion corresponding to each pixel, and creates a distance map from the two-dimensional coordinates and the distances; and a road surface specifying unit (7) which, on the basis of the distance map, specifies a flat surface (G) corresponding to a road surface in the imaged subject portion. The flat surface (G) corresponding to a road surface is specified on the basis of the captured image rather than being specified from a plurality of pre-prepared points having known three-dimensional positions as in the past, and the road surface and obstacles can therefore be distinguished without requiring corrections beforehand as in the past.
