Provided is a technology for more accurately expressing by means of sound the position of an obstacle with respect to a host vehicle, while minimizing an increase in the number of installation locations of speakers in the vehicle cabin. An obstacle notification device 10 is equipped with a speaker array 145 having a plurality of speakers arranged in the cabin of a vehicle. The obstacle notification device 10 acquires obstacle information identifying the positional relationship between the vehicle 100 and an obstacle (more specifically, the direction of the obstacle and the distance to the obstacle), and outputs to a speaker array device 14 an acoustic beam of a notification sound for which the sound source is arranged at a position in accordance with that positional relationship. In order to achieve this, the obstacle notification device 10 sets in a signal processing unit 13 a parameter for frequency-shifting the notification sound signal by a shift amount in accordance with the obstacle information, and sets in power amps 144A-144P a parameter specifying an amplification factor for outputting the acoustic beam of the notification sound with a volume in accordance with the obstacle information.
