Abstract:
Provided are an obstacle sensing system and an obstacle sensing method for a track traveling vehicle, the system and method allowing an object crossing a track to be appropriately determined to be an obstacle. An obstacle on a track is sensed on the basis of a signal from a first detector that is mounted in a vehicle traveling on the track and creates a first side boundary sensing area where an object entering the track from the right side is sensed and a signal from a second detector that is mounted in the vehicle and creates a second side boundary sensing area where an object entering the track from the left side is sensed. Alternatively, in front of the vehicle traveling on the track, the first side boundary sensing area where the object entering the track from the right side is sensed and the second side boundary sensing area where the object entering the track from the left side is sensed are formed, and the obstacle is determined to have entered the track when an object is sensed in one of the first side boundary sensing area and the second side boundary sensing area.
