Abstract:
Provided is a technique that enables a vehicular seat to protect an occupant. An occupant protection system for a vehicular seat on which an occupant of a vehicle sits is provided with an acquisition unit that acquires information on at least any of the state of the vehicular seat, the state of the occupant of the vehicular seat, the traveling state of the vehicle, or the state of the environment around the vehicle, a plurality of airbags that are disposed to correspond to each part of the occupant and inflate in response to gas supply, a gas generator that generates gas that is supplied to the airbags, and a control unit that selects, from among the plurality of airbags on the basis of the information acquired by the acquisition unit, an airbag required to prevent the occupant from moving from the vehicular seat in the direction in which the force of inertia acts, and controls the amount of gas supply to each airbag in a manner that inflates the selected airbag.
