Abstract:
This occupant restraining structure (5) is provided with: a steering wheel (300) provided with a gripping part (310); an instrument panel (500) provided with a driver seat panel (510); and an air bag (410). The gripping part (310) is not annular. The air bag (410) deploys further rearward than a rear end reference surface (S), i.e. the end surface of the driver seat panel (510) located towards the rear of a vehicle. At least a portion of the gripping part (310) is provided further towards the front of the vehicle than the rear end reference surface (S) of the driver seat panel (510).
